Bike manufacturers have been making different models of bikes designed and sized specifically for women. Special features are included such as a shorter top tube, more standover clearance, a lower center of gravity, thinner grips on handlebars, and specific saddles. Women's bikes reflect a reduction in strength requirements but also an increase in comfort over men's bikes. This allows the rider to stay focused on pedaling instead of having to adjust their posture or fend off fatigue due to aches or soreness. This means that, although both men and women can ride either type of bike without issue, the smaller sized women's frame results in a better experience which is why many female riders prefer them.
